Our Why
The United States of America spends more money on healthcare than most nations, but our mothers are dying at rates nearly 10 times greater. And for women of color, that number is disproportionately higher. Yet 84% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable.
We can do better. Our clients have a 100% survival rate.
At Sweet Bee Services, we’ve proven another way is possible: every client we’ve supported has survived and thrived. You and your family deserve the same outcome.
Behind every statistic is a mother’s story. Deanna’s is one of courage, survival, and advocacy. It’s why we do this work.
“At my 36 week appointment, my doctor came in and told me I was going to the hospital, that I had preeclampsia, and that I wasn't leaving the hospital without a baby. She told me they would do everything they could to get me to 37 weeks but if my condition worsened there was nothing they could do but deliver.
I'm sharing my story so black mothers make it home to their children.” — Deanna Bobbi
How We’re Saving Lives
Our concierge model doesn’t just support families: it saves lives. From conception through the crucial postpartum weeks, our doulas deliver continuous, evidence-based, and relationship-driven care. We tailor each experience with prenatal visits, on-call advocacy, postpartum recovery support, and lactation guidance so every family receives seamless, wrap-around care.
A mounting body of research highlights doula care as a highly beneficial and cost-effective intervention for improving the health outcomes of both infants and mothers. When Sweet Bee founder, Leah Hairston, uncovered the harsh realities of reproductive inequity, she committed her life to creating spaces for healing, justice, and transformative care.
We start with multiple prenatal visits to ensure expectant parents receive comprehensive care and preparation. We offer continuous support throughout the labor and delivery process, providing comfort, encouragement, and advocacy, even in the event of pregnancy loss or stillbirth. Then, in the early weeks of parenthood, our postpartum doulas offer crucial support, providing evidence-based education on infant care and lactation, as well as guidance on the wide array of community and health resources available.
Join Our Mission
Your investment in concierge care also expands access for families with Medicaid. For every three clients we serve, we’re able to support one Medicaid-eligible family. We remain committed to our mission while maintaining the highest level of care. Ready to help save lives?
