What is BLS?
BLS, which stands for Basic Life Support, is a set of life-saving medical procedures performed in the early stages of an emergency. These resuscitation techniques are generally administered by a first responder, healthcare provider, or any individual on the scene who has basic medical training.
The goal is to maintain the life functions of a person having a medical emergency—such as cardiac arrest or respiratory failure—until more advanced medical care arrives. You may sometimes hear BLS referred to as BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), but there is no difference between the two.
The Purpose: Why We Lead with Safety
At Sweet Bee, we believe that every family deserves a birth experience they can trust. Safety isn't just a requirement; it is the heartbeat of professionalism. This training ensures you meet the Medicaid certification eligibility requirements while upholding the Sweet Bee Standard for every community member we serve.
Official ARC Training Provider: As an authorized American Red Cross Training Provider, we provide expert-led instruction that medical professionals and employers trust.
Expert-Backed Training: Our course was developed under the guidance of and reviewed by the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council—a panel of nationally recognized specialists.
Institutional Standards: This information meets or exceeds local, state, and national standards, ensuring you are prepared.
How it Works: The Sweet Bee Hybrid Model
We use a blended learning program that respects your time while ensuring you have the hands-on skills to lead with certainty.
Phase 1: Online Learning. Complete about 1–2 hours of online learning at your own pace before our in-person session.
